The OpEd Project Workshop Application

Dear Colleagues,

This January, we are bringing the nationally recognized OpEd Project to UIC and I invite you to apply to participate in a sponsored workshop on January 12 and 13, 2018.

The OpEd Project’s mission is to increase the range of voices and the quality of fact-based opinion and advocacy that appear in the media. The Project’s experts train participants from universities, foundations, and the public whose voices are often not heard, to take thought leadership positions in their fields. The Project is particularly interested in the voices of women and under-represented groups, but the application process is open to all UIC faculty.

At the one-and-a-half-day workshop held at UIC, faculty will learn how to make a strong and persuasive case for their ideas, whether in an op-ed in print or online, on TV, to potential funders, or to legislative bodies. Participants will have ongoing access to The OpEd Project’s national network of journalist mentors for individual feedback on their op-ed drafts after the workshop.
