Length of the hiring process due to need for approval from the Office of Access and Equity (OAE)

There was a complaint about the length of the hiring process because of the need to seek approval from the Office of Access and Equity (OAE). The OAE process for vetting job announcements and determining what candidates meet minimum qualifications typically takes no more than 24 hours after the request is made. These reviews are part of the requirements to maintain UIC’s compliance with federal law and they are an essential part of our commitment to a fair hiring process.
