Administrative Search: Vice Provost for International Affairs

I am pleased to announce that UIC will begin a search for its first Vice Provost for International Affairs later this summer. The new office of the Vice Provost for International Affairs will have two overarching responsibilities. First, it will consolidate existing international services under one manager to provide an efficient and supportive infrastructure for faculty and students engaging in international study and research, and to provide a welcoming and supportive environment to international students and scholars at UIC.

Second, and equally important, the new vice provost will lead the campus in developing strategies to increase UIC’s coordinated global presence and in establishing focused and strategic relationships abroad to benefit our research enterprise, our global outreach, and our international reputation as a destination campus.

The units that are currently dispersed across the campus but will be brought together to report to the new Vice Provost for International Affairs will include:

  • Office of International Affairs
  • Office of International Services
  • Study Abroad Office
  • Tutorium for Intensive English
  • US-Asia Executive Development Program
  • Shorelight/UIC International

The recruitment of this new vice provost will be a critical milestone in UIC’s evolution as a global university. Information about the position and the search process will be forthcoming.

Sincerely,

Susan Poser
Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
