Provost Announcement: Finalists for Executive Director, UIC Extended Campus

I am pleased to announce that two finalists for the position of Executive Director of Extended Campus (EDEC) will interview on campus in February. We invite and encourage you to attend their public presentations, meet them and provide feedback.

The Executive Director will foster the growth of online education at UIC as well as other innovative and transformative programs for multi-generational learners. Extended Campus oversees UIC’s online programs and offers credit and noncredit programming to adult professional audiences. It currently operates in partnership with several of UIC’s colleges.

The Executive Director provides administrative leadership and oversight in the development and expansion of Extended Campus programs. The Executive Director is responsible for managing an annual budget of $5M, a full-time staff of 19 employees and enrollments of approximately 10,000 participants annually. The responsibilities of this position include establishing strategic directions and initiatives; supervising a team of professionals; managing the budget and allocation of resources; overseeing online compliance regulations; creating and maintaining critical internal and external relationships to support implementation of the university’s mission; and developing online, professional development and certificate programs. The Executive Director reports to the Associate Provost.
