Alanna O’Connor

Alanna O’Connor serves as Chief of Staff to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Alanna has over twenty years of experience at UIC with previous roles including six years as Assistant Dean for Student Recruitment for first year, transfer, and graduate programs at the College of Business Administration; and Director of Operations for the Office of Academic and Enrollment Services. Before joining UIC in 2002, Alanna worked in admissions roles at the Illinois Institute of Technology and DePaul University. Alanna holds BA and MA degrees in English Literature from the UIC College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. A native and resident of Chicago’s southside, whose parents immigrated from Ireland, Alanna is also a proud double alumna of UIC, holding bachelor and master’s degrees in English Literature from the UIC College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
